Sometimes you're stuck with an unfortunate surname.

Chad has cool glasses

I want cool glasses too. These frameless jobbies were supposed to give the illusion that i'm not wearing glasses at all. Well, they fail! Instead I look like an uptight jerk wad. Hmm... I hope it's just the glasses.

Hare brained

I dreamt about giving myself a haircut. And strange Asian culture. And a man with no skin. Deep sleep.

Sunday

The clouds blew away. We played Scrabble and snacked. We laughed a lot. I tried to sew. We ate supper.

Good day

While I should be moving the aunt's stuff to the new house, I am home with the family, actually enjoying my Saturday instead.

Bald spot

Haircuts today. Overdue. I'm afraid to see the recession. Ah well. More to tan.

Spling

It's nice to see budding trees and bright, beautiful flowers. The grass is turning green again, growing in tufts where the dog has pooped. I like being outside without a jacket, warm enough to be able to sit and relax. I like pushing Korbin on the swing. I like walking. It's good to be outdoors before the insects have all come out in the warmth of summer.

The day do you

The inlaws hosted Easter this year. I was tired. It was my own fault. Seems like the days of rest come sporadically and unpredictably throughout the week. On weekends where I go into the days of rest expecting rest, I find myself at my wit's end, doing a hundred things I would rather avoid.
I have such fond memories of quiet solitude in the woods or on a mountain. Better find some of that for myself. I'd like for Korbin to get some of that too. Nature is wonderful. Makes you wonder why you sit in front of the TV so much.

Brotherhood

Asher loves to watch his brother. Korbin is a bundle of energy at all times. Better than cartoons, that one. Yesterday I came home from work, and everyone was hanging out next door at Dawn's folks house. When I came over Korbin wanted to show me a song that he hopes to perform at church sometime. He had a pepper grinder for a microphone and he mouthed the words as the song played on the CD player. He had all the rocker moves, spinning and kicking and dancing around with his mic in the air. It was really cool to watch him just go full tilt without any hangups.

So it goes

I recommend Kurt Vonnegut books to anyone.

Texas toast

Don't be anxious for anything, but in all things, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God... And you'll be at peace.
I forgot the last half of the verse, but it's nice to know that I don't have to kick my own butt when things are not great. I just need to bring it to God and lay it out for him to handle. Why is that so hard to remember? Don't be anxious for ANYTHING! Amen to that.

Visitors

A couple of upper management people are in the building this week as they measure our effectiveness as a center. Are we doing things the way we should? They will find out.
Also they are sitting directly behind me. Luckily I have worked for one of them and am working on a project for her still. I'm not used to having company. I hope I appear at least as productive as I feel.

Wait for the wind

Called Akira!
Wonderfulness. The wind is howling outside. We will have gone many places by the end of the day.

Let your spine unwind

Funny how the simple earthy lyrics from Beastie Boys tracks stick in my head. They're so appropriate sometimes that I just have to use them. Other times I just like how they sound, so I'll repeat them until Korbin starts echoing me and I realize how crazy I must seem to others.

Flame on

I dreamed about the old house again. I'd hired some people to do the drywall. It wasn't going well. Nothing gets fixed in the dream. Just continues to need more work. Would I ever dream that it was completely fixed and sold and out of my hair and all was right with the world? Am I wired for optimism?
I could be.
